Imbas
The National University of Ireland, Galway, Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Medieval Conference, November 11-12th 2011.
We would like to invite all postgraduate students of medieval studies to Imbas, an interdisciplinary medievalists' conference being held in the Moore Institute at NUI Galway November 11-13th 2011. This conference welcomes delegates at all stages of their research from all areas of medieval studies including languages, history, literature, art, archaeology, palaeography and philosophy.
The theme for 2011 is ‘Identity: ‘individual, society and realm'.
Delegates are encouraged to view the theme as a broad suggestion rather than in any way restrictive, and all variations on this theme will be welcome.
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Alan Murray, of the University of Leeds, will be our keynote speaker.
A selection of papers will be published in our peer-reviewed journal, The Imbas Journal. This journal will be made available via our website and open-access journal databases. All panels will be recorded and made available as podcasts.
Abstracts of 250 words for a twenty minute paper must be submitted before September 30, 2011. Abstracts can be sent to imbasnuig@gmail.com or forwarded to Imbas Committee, c/o Classics Department, National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland.
